Bush signs reauthorization bill for FAA
The day before celebrations marking the 100th anniversary of the Wright Brothers flight, President Bush signed into law legislation providing the Federal Aviation Administration $60 billion in spending authority during the next four years.
In addition to funding airport construction projects and passenger baggage screening systems, Vision 100 — The Century of Aviation Act provides allows cargo pilots who volunteer for a special training program to carry firearms in the cockpit to protect their plane from hostile takeover.
