MacAndrews introduces faster ship on intra-Europe route
London-based MacAndrews, a subsidiary of CMA CGM, has added the 700-TEU vessel “Werder Bremen” to its weekly container shipping service between Portugal, Ireland, the United Kingdom and Holland.
The “Werder Bremen” has 144 reefer plugs and a service speed of 17.5 knots. It replaces the 700-TEU “City of Lisbon”, which had a speed of 16.5 knots. “Upgrading the speed of the ships which operate our Portuguese service has been a priority,” said Geoff Smith, MacAndrews’ managing director. “Werder Bremen is a faster ship that will help us ensure schedule integrity on the service.”
The full port rotation of the “Portuguese” service is Lisbon, Leixoes, Dublin, Liverpool, Greenock, Rotterdam and back to Lisbon.
