SCHENKER INTRODUCES THREE TIME-DEFINITE LEVELS

The freight forwarding group Schenker has introduced
three levels of time-definite airfreight services throughout its network.
The "JETcargo FIRST," "JETcargo BUSINESS" and
"JETcargo ECONOMY" service packages offer firm transit times and a choice of
services, with no restrictions on the weights or sizes of shipments.
JETcargo FIRST is aimed at extremely urgent shipment that require the
shortest possible transit times; JETcargo BUSINESS caters for urgent shipments; and
JETcargo ECONOMY is designed for less urgent airfreight cargoes.
Schenker, part of the German group Stinnes AG, is the latest logistics
provider to have adopted time-definite services, a concept invented by integrators.
There is no fixed "money back" guarantee paid to shippers if
Schenker does not meet the firm transit time, but such contractual terms may be negotiated
individually, a spokesman for Schenker said.
Schenker said that it has converted all of its global network’s
airfreight services to the new services.
