Agility strengthens presence in Latin America

The integrated logistics provider expanded its Latin America network with the addition of three company-owned operations in Colombia, located in Bogota, Medellin and Cali.

Integrated logistics provider Agility strengthened its presence in Latin America with the addition of three company-owned operations in Colombia, which are located in Bogota, Medellin and Cali.
Agility Colombia, which is a joint venture with Navemar Group, offers airfreight, ocean freight, inland freight, warehousing, distribution, and export and import services, Agility said.
Although economic growth in Colombia slowed in 2015 from a decline in commodity prices, Agility said the near future appears brighter with investments forecasted in the next few years as non-oil exports recover.
“Colombia is a vibrant retail and consumer market and a supplier of important agricultural, mineral and energy commodities,” Agility Colombia Country Manager Margarita Sanmartin said in a statement. “With political stabilization, it has a chance to be an important bridge between South and Central America as economies in the region deepen their integration.”
With the addition of the new offices, Agility’s network now comprises owned operations in Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Peru and Colombia, which combined, account for 75 percent of economic activity in Latin America and the Caribbean.
In addition, the logistics provider has partnerships with agents throughout South America, Central America and the Caribbean.
Headquartered in Sulaibiya, Kuwait, Agility provides customers with supply chain solutions, logistics services and infrastructure management, operating in over 500 offices across 100 countries.
