CSCMP names Blasgen to succeed McIntyre
The Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals, a 9,000-member association formerly known as the Council of Logistics Management, has appointed Rick D. Blasgen to succeed Maria A. McIntyre as CSCMP's top staff executive.
McIntyre, whose unexpected retirement was announced last week by the council, had been the CSCMP's chief operating officer and executive vice president. Mark Richards, the CSCMP's immediate past president, told Shipper's News Wire that Blasgen's exact title would be determined at a December meeting of CSCMP's executive committee.
'He is the CSCMP's ranking staff executive, but he will have a different title,' Richards said.
Blasgen has been senior vice president of integrated logistics for ConAgra Foods. Before that, he was vice president, supply chain, at Kraft and Nabisco.
Before his new appointment, Blasgen had been next in line to follow Mary-Lou Quinto as newly elected CSCMP president for the term 2006-2007. He has been a member of the CSCMP's executive committee and a past president of the Warehousing Education and Research Council.
