AIR CARGO UP IN LATIN AMERICA, DOWN IN ASIA
Air cargo volume rose 15 percent in Latin America and the Caribbean in
November but dropped 2 percent in Asia, according to the Geneva-based
Airports Council International.
Latin American and Caribbean airports handled a total of 140,312 metric
tons during the month. Asia/Pacific moved 1.190 million tons during the
same period.
Airports Council International reported decreases of 9 percent at Hong
Kong, 3.5 percent at Tokyo, 9 percent at Seoul, 0.5 percent at Singapore
and 8 percent at Bangkok.
World air cargo traffic fell 0.6 percent, with North American airports
reporting a 0.3 percent drop.
