UPS CLAIMS WIDESPREAD SUPPORT FOR REVOKING DHLÆS FORWARDING LICENSE
United Parcel Service said it has received “overwhelming support” from Members of the U.S. Congress, organized labor and industry groups for its petition before the U.S. Department of Transportation to revoke the foreign air freight forwarding license of DHL Worldwide Express.
DHL is owned by Duetsche Post, the German post office.
UPS said that 291 members of the U.S. House and Senate sent letters to the DOT supporting its position.
Similar petitions against DHL have been filed by Federal Express, the Transportation Trades Department of the AFL-CIO, the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, the American Trucking Associations and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, UPS said.
