Westwood, Star Shipping to share space in Pacific

Tacoma-based Westwood Shipping Lines and Norway’s Star Shipping, two operators of multipurpose ships, have filed a revised sailing and space charter agreement with the U.S. Federal Maritime Commission concerning their proposed cooperation in the transpacific trade.

The revised agreement would authorize the two shipping lines to operate a service and share space in the trade between the U.S. and Canadian Pacific Coasts and ports in Japan, Korea and China.

Star Shipping, a transatlantic operator, does not operate a transpacific liner service, according to ComPair Data, the global liner-shipping database.
