Hanjin orders another three 6,500-TEU ships
Hanjin Shipping has ordered another three 6,500-TEU container vessels from the Korean shipyard Hyundai Heavy Industries, for delivery in early 2008.
The order represents a continuation of its series of new ships of this size, following its order of five 6,500-TEU vessels made in 2004.
Hanjin said the new vessels will have a speed of 26.5 knots.
The Korean carrier also has five 7,500-TEU vessels on order. Starting from the second half of this year, the five 7,500-TEU ships will be deployed in the transpacific trade.
