DHL extends Sainsbury’s U.K. fashion warehousing contract
DHL Exel Supply Chain has been awarded a '37 million ($70.6 million) contract extension to provide warehouse services for British retailer J Sainsbury’s entire TU fashion range.
The TU adult clothing range has been managed by DHL Exel since 2004, while the children’s range was included in DHL operations from May this year.
DHL will now manage Sainsbury’s dedicated 20,000-square-meter fashion site in Coventry until November 2009. Under terms of the contract, DHL will incorporate the receipt and storage of Sainsbury’s adult and children’s clothing ranges to the central Coventry warehouse. Pre-retailing services, which makes garments ready for store, includes store picking, conversion from boxed to hanging garment and onward transportation to 200 stores nationwide.
