PORT FREEPORT RECEIVES CONGRESSIONAL FUNDING FOR DREDGE STUDY
Port Freeport said it has received funding to conduct a study with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on the viability of future dredging projects for the Freeport harbor.
The study is expected to begin early next year and will take approximately one year to complete.
Port Freeport is the second-largest container port on the Texas Gulf Coast, with a channel depth of 45 feet and only 3 miles from the water of the Gulf. The port offers more than 7,500 acres for future development.
