OCEANBULK LINE STARTS U.S./SOUTH AMERICA SERVICE
Oceanbulk Line, based in Athens, launched a South American liner service Jan. 24 from the Port of Miami.
The two-vessel, fixed 23-day liner service calls at Veracruz, Houston, Mobile (on inducement), Miami, Praia Mole (Vitoria), Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires southbound. Northbound, the service calls Campana, Sao Francisco do Sul, Santos, Puerto Cabello (Venezuela) and Rio Haina (Dominican Republic). between Mexico, Houston and Miami to Brazil and Argentina. Oceanbulk, one of the largest dry bulk cargo carriers in Greece, plans to add a third vessel to the service during the first quarter.
Its fleet of multipurpose vessels can handle roll-on/roll-off, breakbulk, project cargoes, containers and are equipped with heavy-lift gear with capacities up to 120 tons.
