Expeditors in Brazil competition probe
Freight forwarding and logistics company Expeditors International of Washington Inc. said Friday the company and its Brazilian subsidiary received an administrative proceeding Aug. 17 from the Brazilian Ministry of Justice.
The proceeding against Expeditors and one of its employees alleges possible anticompetitive behavior contrary to Brazilian rules on competition.
“Expeditors intends to vigorously defend itself against the allegations. Should Expeditors be found to have committed an infringement against Brazilian anticompetition laws, it may result in material fines and penalties,” the company said.
