OMI buys two more tankers
OMI Corp., the expansionist tanker shipping group based in Stamford, Conn., said Friday it has reached an agreement to purchase two Suezmax vessels, built in 2003, from Arcadia Ship Management for about $140 million.
OMI also said last Wednesday it purchased four Suezmax vessels and eight product carriers from Athenian Sea Carriers for about $585 million.
The tanker shipowner said the two additional Suezmax ships are sister ships to vessels in its fleet. It expects to take delivery of the Suezmax vessels between mid-July and August.
