IMO issues list of trusted container inspectors

   The International Maritime Organization has released a roster of organizations entrusted to test, inspect and approve containers. The names have been provided by parties that have signed the International Convention for Safe Containers 1972.

   The list includes organizations in Argentina, Australia, Bahamas, Barbados, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, China, Croatia, Cuba, the Czech Republic, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Denmark, Estonia, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Indonesia, Israel, Italy, Japan, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Pakistan, Peru, Poland, Republic of Korea, Romania, Russian Federation, Spain, Sweden, the United Kingdom, the United States and Vanuatu.

   Prominent recurring names in multiple countries include American Bureau of Shipping, Bureau Veritas, Det norske Veritas, Germanischer Lloyd, Lloyd’s Register of Shipping, and Nippon Kaiji Kyokai.
