ProcureNet picks Exel to manage military shipments
ProcureNet, a provider of integrated e-procurement services for business-to-government markets, has contracted with Exel, a U.K.-based provider of logistics services, to handle the warehousing and distribution of products going to military customers within the U.S.
Under terms of the three-year pact, Exel will store and ship service parts for military-wheeled-and-tracked tactical vehicles, as well as for some U.S. military deployments around the world.
Exel’s new operation for ProcureNet will be located in Fort Worth, Texas.
Exel has also announced the expansion of work done for Carrefour, a global retailer, in Brazil. The new services for Carrefour include managing a 245,000-square-foot distribution center in Brasilia, Brazil.
Currently, Exel ships 11 million cases of product per year to Carrefour’s Brazilian outlets, in addition to the services that Exel provides for the retailer in Belgium, France, Spain and South Korea.
