PORT ENTRY EXCEPTIONS LISTED IN U.S.-RUSSIA MARITIME AGREEMENT
A new five-year maritime agreement signed recently in St. Petersburg, Russia by the United States and the Russian Federation allows ocean carriers of both nations to call at most ports on 24 hours’ notice.
However, four Russian ports and 18 U.S. ports will require 72 hours advanced notice.
The four Russian ports are: Novorossiysk, Vladivostok, Murmansk and Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy.
U.S. ports requiring 72 hours’ advanced notice are: Charleston, S.C.; Hampton Roads, Norfolk, Newport News, Jamestown, Yorktown and Portsmouth, Va.; Honolulu; Port Saint Joe, Panama City, Port Canaveral, and Pensacola, Fla.; Kings Bay, Ga.; Port Hueneme and San Diego, Calif.; Portsmouth, N.H.; and New London and Groton, Conn.
