Intermarine receives “Industrial Diamond”
New Orleans-based Intermarine LLC has received the first of six multipurpose heavy-lift ships from Portugal’s Estaleiros Navais de Viana do Castelo.
The 8,000-deadweight-ton “Industrial Diamond” is making its first voyage from Spain with a shipment of wind turbine equipment destined for the U.S. East Coast and should arrive in Houston at the beginning of September, Intermarine said.
The remaining five sister ships, all of which feature dual 250-metric-ton cranes which combined can accommodate up to 500-ton lifts, will arrive over the next two years.
