Industry veterans get COO, EVP roles.
CMA CGM America, headquartered in Norfolk, Va., has named Tim Haas its chief operations officer.
Haas worked at Maersk, including APMT and Sea-Land, for 21 years. He was COO of the APMT terminal in Oman, general manager of business development in The Hague and COO of China. In 2012, he concluded his service at APMT as the port director in Houston.
He then joined Watco Companies, a firm noted for shortline railroads as well as the handling of bulk, breakbulk, liquid bulk, heavy lift and project cargoes, as senior vice president of terminal operations. Most recently Haas was the senior adviser to the port and terminal sector of InstarAGF, a fund that has raised more than $750 million to invest in ports, terminals and transportation projects in North America.
Jacksonville, Fla.-based CSX Corp. on Monday named Mark Wallace executive vice president of sales and marketing and Diana Sorfleet executive vice president and chief administrative officer.
Wallace, who joined CSX in March 2017, had been the executive vice president and chief administrative officer. He began his railroad career at Canadian National in January 1995 as an analyst in the taxation and treasury function. He later served as chief of staff to President and CEO Hunter Harrison.
Sorfleet had been the chief human resources officer. She joined CSX in June 2011 after many years in human resources with Exelon, for which she most recently served as vice president of diversity and development.
