Bonner names Mullen to head trade relations
The import and export community has a new ombudsman at U.S. Customs and Border Protection after Michael Mullen was named director of the Office of Trade Relations.
In his job Mullen will review industry concerns and make policy recommendations as needed to resolve problems.
Mullen was a senior associate at management consulting firm Booz Allen Hamilton, specializing in national security affairs. From 1995 to 2002 Mullen was director of the National Center for Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation, a public-private organization dedicated to removing trade barriers and creating export opportunities for U.S. firms in the region.
Mullen replaces Keith Thomson, who was appointed by Commissioner Robert Bonner in late July as assistant commissioner for the Office of International Affairs.
