U.S. CUSTOMS IMPLEMENTS ANDEAN TRADE ACT BENEFITS FOR TEXTILES, TUNA
The U.S. Bureau of Customs and Border Protection has implemented trade benefit provisions for Andean countries contained within Title XXXI of the 2002 Trade Act.
The trade benefits for these countries are part of the Andean Trade Promotion and Drug Eradication Act. They cover duty- and quota-free treatment of certain apparel and textile imports, and tuna.
The agency will take comments from the industry regarding the interim rulemaking through May 27.
