HANJIN TO MAINTAIN COOPERATION WITH UASC

Following its recent announcement of a plan to set up a global alliance with COSCO Container Lines, “K” Line and Yang Ming, Hanjin Shipping said that it will continue to cooperate with United Arab Shipping Co., its partner in the United Alliance.

“Hanjin wishes to confirm such consultations are performed with full consent of all United Alliance members,” Hanjin said, referring to the its cooperation discussions with COSCO, “K” Line and Yang Ming.

A spokesman for Hanjin said that the cooperation and current arrangements within United Alliance — which includes Hanjin, its subsidiary Senator Lines and UASC —    will continue.

Specifically, Hanjin and Senator will continue to take space on UASC-operated services — the northern Europe/Mideast AEC service and the Mediterranean/Mideast/Indian Subcontinent MIX loop. UASC will continue to take space on services operated by Hanjin and Senator — the U.S. East Coast/Mediterranean/Asia AMA service, the Asia/U.S. West Coast/Panama/U.S. East Coast AWP loop and the Asia/U.S. West Coast PDM-1 string.
