Former Sen. Breaux nominated to join CSX board
Former U.S. Sen. John Breaux has been nominated for election to the board of directors of CSX Corp.
The election of board members will be concluded at CSX’s annual meeting of shareholders May 4.
Breaux was first elected to the U.S. Congress from Louisiana in 1972, serving 14 years in the U.S. House of Representatives and 18 years in the U.S. Senate. He retired from the Senate in January.
Breaux serves as senior counsel at Patton Boggs LLP, a Washington, D.C. law firm. He also holds the positions of senior managing director of the Clinton Group and managing director of Riverstone Holdings.
In addition, Breaux serves as vice chairman of a national commission appointed in January by President Bush to make recommendations for changes to the nation’s current tax laws.
