GIPSA RAISES GRAIN INSPECTION FEES

GIPSA RAISES GRAIN INSPECTION FEES

The Federal Grain Inspection Service (FGIS) of the U.S. Department of Agriculture' Grain Inspection, Packers and Stockyards Administration (GIPSA) is increasing fees by about 6.1 percent.

Contract and non-contract hourly rates, certain unit rates, and the administrative tonnage fee are increased.

These fees, which apply only to inspection and weighing services performed in the U.S. under U.S. Grain Standards Act (USGSA), are in response to increase in the cost-of-living (based on an average of the locality pay) and actual cost of performing the inspection services.

The increase in user fees will generate about $575,000 in additional revenue.
