Seabulk licenses docking technology to Spanish tug operator
Seabulk International Inc., a provider of ship docking modules, has licensed its patented SDM docking module technology to Remolques y Servicios Maritimos S.L., a tug operator based in Barcelona, Spain.
The licensing agreement allows Remolques to build two tugs with Seabulk’s modules. Introduced in 1997, Seabulk’s tractor tug technology allows a tug to generate full power in any direction, forward, backward or sideways, with a maximum speed of 12.5 knots and a bollard pull of 120,000 pounds in any direction.
Seabulk International is based in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
