New feeder links Rotterdam, Sweden
A new container feeder service between Rotterdam and Sweden will start operations later this month.
Operated by Sweden’s SCA Transforest AB, the new service will call at the ECT and SCA Interforest terminals in Rotterdam and three ports in Sweden, including HPH's Container Terminal Frihamnen in Stockholm. The service has a port rotation of Rotterdam, Stockholm, Sundsvall, Umea and Rotterdam, and will operate on a fixed, 10-day schedule with a ship with slightly more than 800 TEUs of capacity.
ECT said the service is among a steadily growing number of services between the Scandinavia and Baltic area and Rotterdam. Such services allow shippers in Europe's northernmost markets to access international shipping routes faster and more efficiently via ECT's terminals.
The first call to Stockholm will take place on June 18.
