U.S. Customs cites Hong Kong textile manufacturers for violations
The U.S. Bureau of Customs and Border Protection has added two Hong Kong textile manufacturers to its list of violators of the federal government’s textile transshipment and rules of origin rules.
The firms are Everlite Manufacturing Co. and Fairfield Line.
If a penalty claim is issued for a violation and no petition in response to the claim is made, the name of the company is placed on the Customs list.
Customs has the authority to list textile-shipping violators under section 592 of the 1930 Tariff Act. This list is authorized to be published under section 222 of the Uruguay Round Agreements Act.
