WILSON LOGISTICS MAKES ACQUISITIONS
Wilson Logistics' U.K. unit said it has acquired Prime Express (Winchester) Ltd., an air and sea-freight forwarding company based in Andover, in southern England.
Wilson Logistics (U.K.) Ltd. estimates an annual turnover of '30 million from Prime Express, which has 10 locations and 140 employees specializing in the electrical and machinery spares industries.
Wilson Logistics also recently said it is acquiring Exceed AB, the Sweden-based air and sea-freight transport network. The purchase is expected to further consolidate Wilson Logistics' lead position in the Nordic markets, with anticipated combined global sales of SEK 7 billion.
The Wilson Logistics Group reached an agreement with Ratos AB, the private equity company, to acquire Exceed, which maintains subsidiaries in Denmark, Finland, Sweden and the United Kingdom.
The combined companies, pending approval of competition authorities in Sweden, will be coordinated under the Wilson Logistics Group with the present managing director, Henrik von Sydow, as chief executive officer.
Exceed's Sweden's managing director, Peter Nevhagen, will be appointed managing director for the Wilson Group's Swedish subsidiary. Kent Carlsson, the managing director for Wilson Logistics in Sweden, will continue as director of logistics services at the group level.
Exceed's operation in Denmark, Finland and the United Kingdom will be combined with Wilson's established companies and local management. In Denmark, Ole E. Rohmann assumed overall managing director responsibility while in Finland, Erik Soderholm remains managing director for the combined companies.
