China Shipping adds Xiamen to transpacific service

   China Shipping Container Lines is adding the Chinese port of Xiamen to its weekly “Asia-America South Loop 1” service at the end of this month.

   The first call at Xiamen on the “AAS1” service will be made by the vessel “CSCL Hong Kong” when it makes its eastbound departure Feb. 27.

   The “AAS1” service is being retonnaged with five ships of around 5,500 TEUs, and will have a revised port rotation of Shanghai, Xiamen, Yantian, Hong Kong, Keelung, Los Angeles, Shanghai, Xiamen, Yantian, Hong Kong and Keelung.

   Zim Israel Navigation Co. takes space on the “AAS1” service.
