Honeywell has acquired materials handling systems provider Intelligrated for $1.5 billion.
For Honeywell, the acquisition provides it inroads into warehouse automation, order fulfillment and software in North American e-commerce, retail, food and beverage markets.
Intelligrated has more than 3,100 employees in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil and China, and its sales in 2016 were estimated to be about $900 million.
Honeywell said Intelligrated’s co-founders, Chris Cole and Jim McCarthy, will continue to serve in a leadership role, and Intelligrated will become part of its Sensing and Productivity Solutions business.
