MAERSK AIR SIGNS CONTRACT WITH PACE AIRLINE MANAGEMENT

   Maersk Air Ltd. has awarded a global general sales agency contract to Pace Airline Management to build an integrator style cargo operation in Europe.

   Pace will be responsible for marketing all of the airlines inbound and outbound cargo capacity when the contract takes effect Oct. 1.

   The Birmingham-based airline, a franchise partner of British Airways, operates 325 flights a week with its fleet of Boeing 737s and CRJ aircraft.

   Pace said the contract will allow them to provide seamless service for shipments from the United States and Asia to any of their destinations in Europe.
