Hamburg Sud amends Asia/North America/South America link

   German carrier Hamburg Sud will change the rotation on its fixed-day weekly “Asia-Pacific” service, reducing the transit time from Hong Kong to Long Beach from 18 to 14 days.

   Full details of the revised port rotation have not been announced.

   Hamburg Sud recently took over the service after its acquisition and subsequent absorption of Kien Hung Line.

   Currently the “Asia-Pacific” service uses 10 ships of around 1,500 TEUs and calls Yokohama; Busan; Shanghai; Hong Kong; Long Beach, Calif.; Manzanillo, Mexico; Buenaventura; Guayaquil; Callao; Iquique; Valparaiso; Talcahuano; Callao; Paita; Manzanillo; Yokohama; Busan; Shanghai and Hong Kong.
