Tideworks automates Vietnam terminal

Tideworks Technology, a Seattle-based provider of terminal management and planning software solutions, said it has completed implementation of its terminal operating system at Cai Lan International Container Terminal (CICT) in Vietnam.
CICT went live with Tideworks’ solutions at the greenfield terminal located in Ha Long City. The terminal is a joint venture between SSA Holdings International, Vietnam, and the Cai Lan Port Investment Consortium, whose main shareholders are the Vietnam National Shipping Lines and Quang Ninh Port.
CICT has deployed Tideworks’ Mainsail Terminal Management System, Spinnaker Planning Management System, and Traffic Control to manage container operations. During a second phase, Tideworks will help implement a third-party equipment position detection system, providing more accurate locating and control of handling equipment as well as improved inventory management. Additionally, the servers and IT equipment will be relocated into a new server room as part of this second phase.
Through a combination of resources in Seattle and Singapore, Tideworks provided all implementation services at CICT, including project management, technical consulting, user training and go-live support. Additionally, Tideworks is providing on-going technical support and all software upgrades as part of the agreement. The second phase is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2013.
