ANZDL INTRODUCES ARRIVAL NOTICES BY E-MAIL
Australia-New Zealand Direct Line has introduced arrival notices by e-mail as an added services to importers and consignees.
The system is available in North America, Australia and New Zealand and replaces the previous arrival notices by facsimile.
Arrival notices are used to let importers and consignees know that their freight is arriving and alert them to any outstanding freight charges, Custom’s clearance data, pick-up location and other information.
Arrival notices sent by fax, one for each bill of lading, could represent up to 70 pages per vessel for large importers, ANZDL said.
