Long Beach picks new security director
Cosmo Perrone has been named security director for the Port of Long Beach, effective March 14. He succeeds William Ellis, who served in the post on an interim basis since 2002.
Perrone headed his own security, fire and investigations consulting firm, Cosmo Perrone and Associates since 2003. Prior to that he served 19 years in Long Beach as director of security and fire services for McDonnell Douglas and then Boeing after a merger.
Perrone will be responsible for the Harbor Patrol and security programs in the 3,000-acre harbor complex.
