Hactl sets new cargo records

The cargo handling agent in Hong Kong handled 2,242 full freighters in November, an increase from the previous monthly record of 2,232 full freighters set in November 2014.

Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl), Hong Kong’s largest cargo handling agent, recently set two new cargo records, the company said.
In November, Hactl handled 2,242 full freighters, beating the previous monthly record set in November 2014 of 2,232 freighters.
In addition, the November 2015 result was 16 percent higher month-over-month. Hactl attributed this surge largely to an increase in pre-Christmas scheduled and charter flights, along with ad hoc project freighter movements.
On Dec. 2, the company handled 95 freighters, the highest number of freighters Hactl has handled in a single day. The previous record of 92 freighters in one day was set Nov. 19, 2014.
“Our steady growth has been driven by our airline customers seeking a single provider for terminal and ramp operations,” Hactl Executive Director Simon Fu said in a statement.
Hactl recently streamlined its ramp operations with improvements including a suite of mobile apps, which enable staff to instantly upload data to the company’s COSAC-Plus management system from underneath the aircraft.
“The on-going improvements have increased productivity, reduced the amount of airside towing and improved handling times,” Hactl said.
Hactl, which serves over 100 airline companies and 1,000 freight forwarders, provides a variety of services including loading and unloading, towing of ULDs, weight and balance, crew transport and administration, cargo document delivery and on-site coordination on ground activities.
