U.S. FOREIGN WATERBORNE TRADE UP 10% THROUGH NOVEMBER
The U.S. Maritime Administration and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers reported that U.S. foreign waterborne trade increased l0 percent during the first 11 months of 2000.
Imports rose 6 percent while exports rose 4 percent.
Liner trade was $446.5 billion or 136.8 million tons. Imports reached $319.5 billion and 77.0 million tons, while exports totaled $127.1 billion and 59.8 million tons.
Tanker value was $676.6 billion and 1.06 billion tons. Imports were $497.0 billion and 742.1 million tons, while exports were $179.6 billion and 319.1 million tons.
Tramp volumes were $114.7 billion on 376.4 million tons. Imports were $76.7 billion and 166.2 million tons, and exports were $38.0 billion and 35.6 million tons.
