DRAGONAIR TAKES CARGO SALES IN-HOUSE IN THE NETHERLANDS, LUXEMBOURG

Dragonair said it has taken its cargo sales operations in the Netherlands and Luxembourg in-house this month.

Inter Aviation Services (IAS) had acted as the airline’s general sales agent since Dragonair began carrying cargo in July 2000, with the understanding that Dragonair would take over sales in the Netherlands and Luxembourg following the launch of its own B747-300SF freighters. The freighters took flight in October.

“Over the last 18 months, IAS has established a platform in the Netherlands and Luxembourg upon which we can now build,” said Robert Wetherill, Dragonair’s regional manager. “We have been extremely pleased with the progress IAS has achieved for the airline and the resulting presence Dragonair now enjoys in the Benelux market.”

Based in Hong Kong, Dragonair operates a fleet of seven A330-300s, three A321s and seven A320s, in addition to two Boeing freighters. The airline’s cargo network connects Europe, the Mideast, Japan and China.
