UPS e-LOGISTICS WILL BUILD FACILITY IN KENTUCKY
UPS e-Logistics Inc., the e-commerce logistics subsidiary of United Parcel Service Inc., said it will build a 400,000-square-foot logistics and technology center in Elizabethtown, Ky.
Construction will begin this fall, with completion planned by mid-2001. It will be a multiclient distribution center providing warehousing, inventory management, order fulfillment and other services.
UPS said the Elizabethtown center “will play a key role in the development of a nationwide distribution network to serve e-commerce companies.”
The e-Logistics subsidiary operates other facilities in Louisville and in Ontario, Calif. Elizabeth town is about 50 miles from UPS’ primary international air freight hub in Louisville.
