MEBA president Davis faces West Coast challenger
Mike Jewell, a West Coast official of the Marine Engineers’ Beneficial Association, a union of ships’ officers, said he will run against MEBA president Ron Davis in an election this fall.
Jewell has been a union patrolman in Seattle since 1999. MEBA elected Davis president in 2001. The union’s voting this year will be held from Sept. 1-Nov. 30.
The 128-year-old labor organization is based in Washington, D.C.
