OSG to charter two product-chemical carriers
New York-based tanker and dry bulk carrier owner and operator Overseas Shipholding Group Inc. has agreed to charter two 47,000-deadweight-ton product-chemical carriers from Cido Tanker Holding Co.
The charter agreement is for a period of seven years, with an additional three-year extension option for each vessel. Financial details were not disclosed.
Sister ships “Overseas Aquarius” and “Overseas Leo” will be built by Hyundai Mipo Dockyard in South Korea, and are scheduled for delivery to OSG in May and June 2008. The ships will be able to transport petroleum products, vegetable oils and IMO III chemicals.
OSG said delivery of the vessels will increase the number of product carriers in it’s fleet to 52.
