EVA AIR AWARDS THREE-YEAR GROUND HANDLING CONTRACT TO MENZIES
Eva Air said it has awarded a three-year cargo ground handling and coastwise trucking contract for all of its United Kingdom business to Menzies World Cargo.
Menzies will handle trucking and handling services for the 22,000 tons of cargo carried by Eva Air to and from the United Kingdom each year. The agreement covers cargo handling at all of Menzies’ U.K. facilities, freighter handling, and airside trucking at Heathrow.
The Taiwanese airline operates six flights a week between London and Taipei, three MD-11 services via Dubai, and three Boeing 747-400 combination flights via Bangkok.
The new contract is an extension of Eva Air’s previous agreement with Menzies, which began in 1998 and covered cargo and ramp handling at Heathrow.
“This is one of the most prestigious handling contracts in the U.K., and it is testimony to the hard work and dedication of Menzies World Cargo’s team that Eva Air has chosen to not only renew, but extend, its agreement with us,” said Des Vertannes, managing director of Menzies World Cargo.
