TOWER GROUP EXPANDS FOOTHOLD IN CHINA
Tower Group International, a subsidiary customs broker of FedEx Corp., announced the award of a Class A forwarder’s license to its Chinese partner, Capital Distribution Services Ltd.
The license will allow CDS to conduct full ocean freight forwarding, cargo consolidation, warehousing, regional transportation and other related services on a direct basis without having to go through a government intermediary.
The legal name of the firm registered in Beijing is Liaching ZHH-CDS Logistics Co. The new name will be first used in the ports of Dalian and Shenzhen and then expanded to other Chinese ports later in the year. CDS has about 100 employees.
