Swiss WorldCargo takes space on Polar AirÆs Asia, U.S. freighters
Swiss WorldCargo said Thursday it has reached an extensive agreement to purchase capacity on Boeing 747 freighters operated by Polar Air Cargo on flights between Switzerland, Asia and the United States.
Under the agreement, effective Nov. 17, Swiss WorldCargo will begin carry cargo on Polar's three weekly scheduled-service flights between Zurich, Switzerland, and Penang, Malaysia, via Delhi, India. Swiss WorldCargo will also have access to capacity to Bombay and Madras.
The agreement also covers flights to the United States in each direction. Swiss WorldCargo will be able to purchase capacity on several existing Polar transatlantic flights serving new York, Chicago to and from Liege, Belgium, and beyond to Zurich, as well as from Atlanta via Liege to Zurich.
The flights will be operated by Polar Air Cargo. Swiss WorldCargo will manage its booking and handling functions for the additional capacity, and all reservations will be registered under the LX code (Swiss International Air Lines).
