Schlausch named head of air and sea forwarding at ABX
ABX Logistics Worldwide, the Belgian logistics and forwarding group, has appointed German-born Hans-Juergen Schlausch to head its worldwide air and sea division.
Schlausch has held a variety of positions in the industry, as branch manager, sales manager, chief executive officer and, until recently, regional manager for Northern Europe with another logistics company.
He has worked in Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Japan and the United Kingdom.
ABX Logistics said it wants to find synergies between the air and sea freight forwarding sectors following the merger of these activities worldwide.
In the air and sea sectors, ABX Logistics had revenues of 1 billion euros ($1.3 billion) in 2003, handling 1.1 million shipments, 3.2 million metric tons and 240,000 TEUs. The company employs 2,500 people worldwide in its air and sea forwarding operations.
