CHINA TO ADMINISTER AST&LÆS TRANSPORT AND LOGISTICS CERTIFICATION EXAM
The American Society of Transportation and Logistics has signed an agreement to allow the Chinese Communication Transportation Association to administer its professional certification exam.
“Our members operate in the global marketplace and this agreement will not only strengthen the ties between logistics professionals in China and North America, but will serve as a foundation for critically important issues in the global marketplace,” said Mike Regan, chairman of AST&L, which is affiliated with the National Industrial Transportation League.
The Chinese Communication Transportation Association, which recently started the Beijing Logistics Institute, was created in 1982 as a national non-profit professional organization. It plays a role as an intermediary between government departments, such as the railway and civil aviation, and other enterprises.
The five year agreement struck between the groups allows the CCTA to recruit, train and administer AST&L’s certificate program. AST&L’s board of examiners will oversee quality control of the program and final approval of certificates. CCTA will start the program in September.
