COORS PICKS EXEL FOR WESTERN U.S. DISTRIBUTION

Adolph Coors Co., a large U.S. brewer, has signed a multiyear contract with Exel, a logistics provider based in the United Kingdom, to expand warehousing and distribution services for Coors’ products in the western United States.

Exel and Coors have had a 16-year relationship. Their latest deal calls for Exel to begin warehousing services at two new Coors distribution centers, one in Golden, Colo., and the other in Ontario, Calif.

The facility in Colorado, with 69,000 square feet of refrigerated space and 34,000 square feet of ambient space, will employ 30 Exel associates. The distribution center in California, now being built on Coors property, will have 277,000 square feet, including 262,000 square feet of refrigerated space.
