IKON OUTSOURCES DISTRIBUTION TO EXEL
IKON Office Solutions, a provider of products and services for business communications, has selected Exel, a logistics provider in the United Kingdom, to manage IKON’s supply chain worldwide.
Exel will outsource all of IKON’s purchasing, logistics operations, inventory planning and forecasting, as well as distribution of equipment. At the same time, over two years, IKON will link the distribution operations managed by Exel with Oracle’s E-Business Suite, providing real-time status of inventory and deliveries.
IKON, based in Irving, Texas, had fiscal 2001 revenues of $5.3 billion. Exel has its headquarters in London.
