CMA, CONTSHIP, MARFRET EXPAND ROUND-THE-WORLD SERVICE
CMA CGM, Contship Containerlines and Marfret will expand their joint round-the-world service in June with the addition of a ninth containership to the service.
From June, the frequency of the Europe/U.S. East
Coast/Panama/Australasia/Suez/Europe service will improve from 11-day sailings to sailings every 10 days. The introduction of a ninth ship will also increase the service capacity.
In addition, the service will include new direct calls at Hamburg, Germany; Kingston, Jamaica; and Manzanillo, Panama.
“These new calls will assist the vessel-sharing agreement lines in delivering to and from the relevant regional markets a better service package and new gateways,” the carriers said in a joint statement.
The round-the-world service currently employs eight ships with an individual capacity of 2,200 TEUs.
