MAERSK SEALAND ADDS KINGSTON TO NEW OCEANIA SERVICE
Maersk Sealand is adding a direct northbound call at Kingston to its fortnightly North America/Australia/New Zealand Oceania service. The new call will replace the previous northbound call at Freeport. The first call at Kingston will be made by “Nysted Maersk” on March 16.
Maersk Sealand will also use the call for relay cargo to and from its global network.
The Oceania service started in October and uses five vessels averaging nearly 2,300 TEUs. The revised port rotation for the Oceania service is Philadelphia, Pa.; Freeport, Bahamas; Houston, Texas; Manzanillo, Panama; Balboa, Panama; Long Beach, Calif.; Auckland; Melbourne; Sydney; Brisbane; New Plymouth; Timaru; Tauranga; Balboa; Manzanillo; Kingston; Philadelphia and Houston.
